About H-HERO

Humanitarian-Health Emergency Response Organization (H-HERO) is a community-driven humanitarian organization operating across Afghanistan.

Legal Status

Not-for-profit, non-governmental, non-political. Registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, Reg. No. 5647 (Active).

Reduce immediate suffering while strengthening local systems so families can recover with dignity and independence.

Re-Building the Women’s Movement (UN Women)

Location: Kandahar  |  Period: Mar 15, 2024 – Jan 15, 2025  |  Grant: $45,000

  • 50 women (widows & SWoC) trained—product formulation, business & marketing.
  • 3 centres; 5 instructors; daily hands-on production.
  • Start-up kits: solar, machine, raw materials, bottles & labels.
  • Vendor linkages and coaching for sales.

Transparent registration; ID checks; AAP/PSEA compliance and monitoring.

Community Kitchen — ABADEI (UNDP)

Location: Helmand (Nahri Saraj & Sangin)  |  Period: Mar 1 – Aug 31, 2025  |  Ref: UNDPAFGLVG/2024/09/27

  • 15 bakeries established (7 Nahri Saraj, 8 Sangin).
  • 375 vulnerable households served daily; 525,000 loaves in 100 days.
  • 30 volunteer bakers; hygiene & baking training; bakery committees formed.

Strong coordination with authorities and elders; adapted to local constraints.
